We're heading to GALA Festival 2024 July 10th to 14th. This year's GALA Festival in Minneapolis will gather about 7,000 singers from 122 LGBTQ2S+ choruses from all over North America and the world. The five-day festival is the largest LGBTQ2S+ choral event in the world.
You can purchase a Festival 2024 Streaming Pass if you want to watch the festival online and see our performance.
Cass is a choral composer, arranger, and conductor with deep roots in Calgary's choral community. Cass has performed and directed several local ensembles, and has shared the stage with many esteemed artists, including Tanya Tagaq, Chris Hadfield, The Tenors, and Eric Whitacre. In addition to being the Artistic Director with the Calgary Men's Chorus, Cass is the Artistic Director One Voice Chorus and the Daytime Choir at Youth Singers of Calgary.
Cass has become well-known for their bold approach to performance as well as their ability to uplift and encourage fearlessness in others. Fascinated by interdisciplinary performance art, Cass seeks out new creative intersections and aims to bring an enhanced choral experience to singers and their audiences alike. When they aren’t busy creating music, Cass enjoys spending time at home with their two kitties, gaming, and going to the cinema.
Like most choirs, we stopped rehearsing and performing in March 2020. It was a difficult time, but we were able to produce a few virual choir pieces with financial assistance from the Calgary Chinook Fund, and technical assistance from John Morgan and Cass Bessette at Morgan Music.
