2022-2023 Season

Mainstay (June 2023)

Join the Calgary Men's Chorus and One Voice Chorus for a meaningful evening of music as they present Mainstay, a home staging of each choir’s 2023 Unison Festival set. Not only does this year's Unison Festival theme, "Open Harbour", pay homage to our host choruses' home in Halifax, but it also emphasizes the significance of safety and community. Each choir’s programming reflects both aspects of this theme and with a stunning variety of repertoire from composers such as Joshua Rist, Don Macdonald, Veljo Tormis, and Dr. Ysaye M. Barnwell, Mainstay will take you on a musical journey that will leave you feeling comforted and inspired. Don't miss this incredible opportunity to experience the beauty of choral music.

Solstice Serenade (December 2022)

Join Calgary Men’s Chorus in celebrating the beauty of winter through songs of nature, joy, sorrow, and togetherness. Solstice Serenade features classic winter & Christmas tunes as well as a few lesser-known gems from Canadian composers Frances Farrell, Zachary Wadsworth, and Don Macdonald.

“Live in each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit, and resign yourself to the influence of the earth.

– Henry David Thoreau

Many among us are experiencing feelings of loneliness, grief, and anxiety as we face these uncertain and unprecedented times. Although the pandemic has required us to isolate ourselves from the people we want to protect, we need to find ways to come together to support each other. Whether singing or attending a performance, choral music is a powerful instrument for uniting communities to achieve something impossible on our own.

We hope you will experience that sense of community that has been largely absent during these difficult times.
